Your dollars at work:
Making a Connection in the Community
It turns a series of lines, stokes and squiggles into a beautiful work of art. Likewise, connection transforms a random collection of people into a thriving community.
This is our focus at the United Way of North Central Mississippi: to champion programs and initiatives that connect people and build a stronger community.
Our philosophy is stronger neighbors make a stronger community.
This is not charity. This is neighbors helping neighbors. This is the United Way.
In fact, 99 cents out of every dollar stays in our community!! Right here in our neighborhood, the United Way is making a difference.
From quick fixes to long-lasting solutions, United Way dollars don’t just provide our neighbors with something to eat or help with utility bills, but give them something to dream… results that matter.

The best choice for charitable contributions
Contributing to the United Way guarantees that the local charitable agencies receiving support have money on which they can rely and make plans to use, rather than depending on sporadic support.
United Way's agencies meet a wide variety of needs for individuals and families across our community, which means that donations reach as many people in need as possible.
Volunteer oversight ensures that agencies receiving United Way dollars provide quality services to meet community needs and adhere to sound fiscal policies in their day-to-day operations.
United Way funds reflect community support for agencies that apply for public and private grants. For some agencies, United Way dollars are used to leverage matching grants that can double or increase based upon annual contributions.
United Way dollars also help in times of disaster and in coordinating relief efforts when other areas around our community needed assistance.
“Every bit of the money we receive from United Way makes a difference. The cost of maintaining our office location, utilities and the phone lines all adds up, and we could not do what we do without the support of the United Way.”
